Custom orders & returns.
What to confirm before commissioning a piece, and how to raise a change, delivery or quality concern.
Draft reviewed: October 26, 2026
Calgary Custom Jewellery (working name; legal business identity to be confirmed) · Calgary, AB
Before you place an order
Every piece is made to order. Before payment, your written order should identify the seller and its contact details, the design and stone specifications, metal purity, ring size or dimensions, full price, taxes and delivery charges, payment stages, estimated completion and delivery arrangements.
You should have an opportunity to review and correct the details, accept or decline, and retain a copy of the agreement. A consultation enquiry alone is not an order.
Deposits & payment stages
The deposit amount, what it covers, when it is due, the remaining balance and its due date must be set out in your written quote. Work begins only after the required approval and payment stages have been agreed.
Refundability and any cancellation calculation have not yet been set as a general business policy. They must be expressly confirmed in writing before a deposit is accepted. This draft does not declare deposits automatically non-refundable or authorise automatic charges.
CAD approval & design changes
Review the CAD views and written specifications before approving production. Ask about setting height, band width, stone placement, size and any detail that matters to you. Lab-grown or natural stone origin should be expressly recorded.
If you request a change after approval, we will explain its feasibility and any revised price or timing before additional work is authorised. Approval does not remove your rights if the finished goods are defective or materially differ from the agreed description.
Completion & delivery
Making times shown elsewhere are estimates. Your written order should confirm the expected completion or delivery date, collection or shipping method, delivery charges, insurance arrangements and the procedure for a delay or parcel problem.
Notify the business promptly if an agreed date is important or a parcel is delayed or damaged. We should discuss available options and any cancellation or refund rights that apply. No website statement automatically makes all delays the customer’s responsibility.
Cancellations & change-of-mind requests
Contact the business in writing as soon as you want to cancel or change an order. The stage of sourcing and production may affect what can be changed, but a specific change-of-mind policy, any permitted deductions and any return procedure must be agreed before payment.
This draft does not establish a blanket final-sale rule, a restocking fee or a cancellation percentage. Any final policy is subject to applicable law and cannot override a statutory right to cancel or receive a refund.
Defects, damage & incorrect specifications
If you believe the piece is defective, damaged or different from the agreed specifications, contact the business with your order reference, a description and relevant photos. Stop wearing a piece if a stone or setting appears loose. Request return instructions before arranging shipment so the piece can be handled safely.
Resolution should take account of the facts, the written agreement and applicable law. Repair, replacement, refund or other remedies may apply; this draft does not promise that a repair is the only remedy, impose an arbitrary claim deadline, or remove statutory protections.
Sizing, wear & care
Confirm sizing before production and discuss any later alteration separately. Cleaning, resizing, repairs and long-term care terms should be recorded in the order where offered; no free resizing or lifetime warranty is promised by this page. Wear, accidental damage or third-party alterations may affect an assessment, but do not automatically extinguish your legal rights.
Your consumer rights & contact
Custom-made goods are not automatically outside consumer-protection law. Any mandatory rights relating to disclosure, cancellation, delivery, defects, misleading descriptions or refunds remain available. The final commission agreement must respect those rights.
Privacy & customer enquiries: The business must confirm a monitored contact email before these draft policies take effect.
